Tickets for one-way and return journeys

Tickets for one-way and return journeys are valid for the selected route and are obtainable at PostBus sales points, ticket machines as well as from your PostBus driver. One-way tickets are valid for a single day and return tickets, according to distances, for 1 day or 10 days.

Multiple Journey Cards

Multiple Journey Cards are ideal if you often travel the same route. The cards are not personalised and can be used by others, including several people travelling together. Multiple Journey Cards are valid for a period of 3 years and are obtainable at PostBus sales points or alternatively, from your PostBus driver.

Route Pass

Route passes are the most advantageous transport ticket for those travelling daily to either work or school. The route pass entitles the holder to an unlimited number of journeys on the chosen route, but is personal and cannot be used by others. This kind of subscription is obtainable from PostBus sales points, in some cases from your PostBus driver, and purchasable for a time span of 1 week, 1 month or a whole year.

Regional Travelcard

In many regions PostBus is a partner company of a Transport Association. Regional travelcards are thus recognised by PostBus, and purchasable at many PostBus sales points and railway station ticket desks – for validity periods of 1 week, 1 month or a whole year. In many places, these are also available as day passes.

GA Travelcard

GA travelcards entitle the holder to unlimited trips on  most PostBus routes, as on the majority of Swiss rail and boat routes. The GA travelcard is solely for personal use, valid for 1 year and purchasable at selected PostBus sales points as well as at railway ticket desks.

Half-fare Travelcard

Half-fare travelcards are available for purchase for periods of 1, 2 or 3 years. The following tickets are obtainable with the half-fare travelcard at half the normal price:

  • One-way tickets
  • Return tickets
  • Round-trip tickets

In addition, reductions on the price of group travel or Multiple Journey Cards are made on presenting a half-fare travelcard.

Day passes in connection with a half-fare travelcard

Day passes purchased with a half-fare travelcard are not personal and, together with a valid half-fare travelcard, entitle the holder to an unlimited number of trips with PostBus as well as many other Swiss transport companies on the selected day.

Children and Youths

  • Accompanied by an adult, children up until 6 years of age travel free of charge (maximum 8 children accompanied by an older person). The accompanying person must take charge of the child/children and be at least 12 years of age. Free transportation for ski schools, kindergartens, childcare groups, children’s homes and similar institutions is unfortunately not possible.
  • Youths up until 16 years of age travel with tickets at half the usual price and in addition pay less for a Multiple Journey Card
  • Youths travel at reduced cost up until 25 years of age with the "Junior Card" route pass.

Junior Card

Children between 6 and 16 years of age travel free of charge when in possession of a personal Junior Card and, in addition, are accompanied by at least one of their parents. The accompanying person father and/ or mother must (each) hold a valid ticket. The Junior Card is obtainable at many PostBus sales points as well as at railway ticket desks.

Grandchild Card

Children between 6 and 16 years of age travel free of charge when in possession of a personal Grandchild Card and, in addition, are accompanied by at least one of their grandparents. The accompanying person grandmother and /or grandfather must (each) hold a valid ticket.

Group Tickets

Group travel pays off! Groups of at least 10 people travel for 20% less. At the same time, the tenth person in any group travels free of charge. Further detailed information on this great offer is available at PostBus sales points or from your PostBus driver.

For guests from abroad

Swiss Pass, Swiss Flexi Pass, Swiss Card and the Swiss Transfer Ticket are all valid for PostBus trips.

Not valid: Gleis 7

The Gleis 7 travelcard is not valid for use on PostBus routes.

Offers for dogs

Basics

For dogs of all sizes*, travelling either in luggage or passenger cars, a half-price 2nd class ticket must be purchased – or the indicated minimum price (Dog Day Pass or Dog GA Travelcard) be paid.

* Small dogs up to 30cm shoulder-height (instep) in cages, baskets or other suitable transporters may be considered as hand luggage and are transported at no extra cost in passenger cars.

Day Pass for Dogs

If you hold a valid GA travelcard or ticket (with half-fare travelcard or under 16), together with a Day Pass for Dogs, your faithful friend is entitled to ride with you on postbuses, trains, boats, trams and most bus routes in the majority of cities and agglomerations a whole day long. In other words, your four-legged friend accompanies you wherever you go - no matter the means of transport and distance – in the very same way as holding a GA travelcard!
