Hiking in Frienisberg
This part of the monastery trail leads through forests and fields from Meikirch to the Frienisberg monastery.
From the starting point at Meikirch church, it begins with a steep climb. At the edge of the forest, you can then enjoy the magnificent view across Berne all the way to the Alpine ridge. The hike then continues gently up and down through the forest until you finally leave the forest at Frienisberg and see the Jura mountain range. Stop in at Frienisberg Monastery to visit the courtyard and treat yourself to some mouth-watering food at the restaurant. Guided tours of the Monastery are available for groups with advance notice (032 391 92 92).
